Bloggers and Vloggers are people I aspire to be like when I grow up, creative people who share their lives and accomplishments with confidence. Shelly Fryer is now included in that list of blog role models. I recently explored Shelly's blog and here are some posts I read and enjoyed.
First up is first read, "Welcome to Room 108." What I liked most about this one is that she shares her process of making her music video and then puts the video right there for easy viewing. I also drew a personal connection to it, I am currently taking Music 405 - Music for elementary teachers. The class is all about music integration and so I love the idea of a class song, it's also super cool to see that teachers do actually act upon what I am currently learning for my future classroom.
Next post is called "Building Relationships with Students #GSPD." What I liked most about this post was when she talked about her morning meetings. I nannied over the summer and I would always have morning meetings with my kids and tell them what was on the agenda for the day. Finding those personal connections makes the post that much more exciting to read. The other thing I really enjoyed about this particular post way reading about Global Play Day but then actually being able to click on the link to read more because I had never heard about it before.
This last thing I enjoyed seeing was her About Me page. It's one thing to read someone's thoughts and accomplishments, but to put a name and thought with a face is so much more cool. Not only that, but she has her about me page but then there are also external links provided, for example to her twitter so that you can learn more about her and keep up with her, and I think that's awesome.
